I wear my denim pencil skirt all the time. It is my go-to piece of clothing for "I have no idea what to wear to this event" events. you can throw it on with a silk top, some cute embellished heels, and a ton of jewelry. Then, if everyone is fancy, no one notices that your skirt is denim because it's a sleek pencil skirt. If people are dressed down, then your choice of denim was the right call.
I do not know why denim pencil skirts have such magical jedi-like powers. They just do!
